The Bedrooms

  The basic furnishings of a bedroom is a bed, a couple of tables, a wardrobe and a chair. When there is not much space, you have to avoid occasional furniture, which hinder the space. In contrast, wardrobes produce amplitude effect. If you choose harmonious colors for the quilt, curtains, walls and floor, you get a sense of relaxation that will help you make a lovely space to slumber.

Once you’ve decided your your colors, accessories and mood of your bathroom,  you can start to think about what style you would like. This is another great opportunity to mix it up and try a look that is different from the rest of your apartment. Is your apartment neutral and mellow? Go for bright bold colors and decorations in your bathroom. If the most of your apartment is already a bold color, try a serene spa-like bath with shades of greens and blues with candles and seashells perhaps.

Most apartment bathrooms are fairly small, which means they are easy to paint and a low-risk spot to experiment. Feel free to try colors that you might be afraid to put on a huge wall in the den. If you hate it, it will only take you a few minutes to paint over it. If you can’t paint the walls in your apartment bathroom, you can still add colorful impact with textiles like bold prints, bright towels in a basket or jars full of colorful rocks. Just be sure to consider the tone you are trying to achieve — relaxing or invigorating. Relaxing is my choice so I would choose warm inviting colors to sooth the soul.

Summer decorating is a wonderful time to lighten up the colors and fabrics in your home. While you may not be able to decorate every room, there are numerous ways to add summer flair. You can decorate with a summer theme such as fruit, flowers, or seaside nautical in addition to following some of the ideas listed below.

Replace heavy drapery with light sheers. The sheers provide an airy appeal while letting in the sunshine. If removing your existing drapery is not an option, consider changing just the valance and tiebacks to a lighter color. Another option is to use grapevine wreaths, strands of beads, artificial flowers, or decorative ribbons as your tiebacks or swag holders. Store away items that are not useful in the summer such as blankets, throws, and heavy quilts.  Lighten up the color of your sofa by placing a slipcover on it or replacing your dark colored pillows with lighter colors.  Place light colored slipcovers on your all-wood dining room or kitchen chairs.  To add a summer touch to your dark wood tables, use white lace or doilies as runners or tablecloths.

Wicker of various qualities are easy to come across. Its a quaint and casual addition to inside or outside decorating. To easily transform a piece layer and tucking an old quilt or fabric into the cushion. Change the colors or prints when the seasons change to give it anew look throughout the year.

Give your room a touch of daring color for a fresh new look. Intense purple is a beautiful choice for a bedroom.
