The Oslo Side Chair

The best of mid-century functionality and elegance fashioned for a new generation. Black heavy cotton webbing weaves a sturdy checkerboard for back and seat around a sleek handcrafted frame of solid beechwood stained rich walnut. Pairs with Oslo dining collection or on its own as a modern update to the office.

Stylish Chairs

It might seem bold to say that a chair can make a decorative statement, but I believe in the right context a chair can make all the difference.  If your room is full of textiles and softscapes consider adding a hardscape furniture piece to help the eye find a place to land in your decorative scene.

Choosing a Perfect Chair

The first and foremost decision would be functionality. Am I looking for something comfortable to relax in and have a cup of tea or something unique to carry through the look I’m trying to achieve? The second critical element is proportion, to make sure the chair fits in the space and that the height of the seat is in balance with other seating in the room. At that point I would choose the upholstery, again balancing legs to skirts in the room as well as prints and solids.

The Zero Gravity Chair

The HumanTouch Chair has been inspired by the Neutral Body Posture studied by NASA during the SkyLab program. The PC-075 Recliner places the body in a virtually weightless position. In this physician-recommended posture, the spine, hip, and knee joints are on or close to the balanced midpoint of the muscles. This results in natural relaxation and minimum muscle tension. This chair gives your neck and back a much-needed breather and allows the body to restore its natural balance. The power recline will bring you into a weightless and relaxing position in under 15 seconds. This PerfectChair is also equally impressive on the eyes. With its four color choices of luxurious leather upholstery, walnut finish base, tapered footrest and sleek silhouette, this amazing chair fits your physique, conscience and design sense perfectly.

The Veneto Hall Chair

Is the new Veneto Hall Chair by Thomas OBrien modern or traditional?  One might argue that it is both. This striking design combines an unlikely pair of modern and ancient inspirations. The narrow, exaggerated high-back seat is based on the form of 1960s-era hall chairs that O’Brien has long wanted to add to his Hickory Chair collection. The legs were drawn from a much-admired image of a bronze Roman tripod table with classical paw feet. The feet are carved in intricate detail, adding to the opulent proportion and exotic historical drama of the chair.
